The Cosmic Year is a simple idea. Compress the entire history of Universe into one year. This gives one a better appreciation of the scope of time and where we fit in.
This certainly wasn't my invention. The most recent use of it that i'm aware of is Carl Sagan's book, The Dragons of Eden. But i've never been satisfied with any of the realizations i've seen yet. So i did my own.
